The beauties of Gulf of Naples: Capri, Ischia and Procida

Naples is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and it includes in its Gulf three wonderful Island: Capri, Ischia e Procida. So we will lead you to discover these islands and the things to see in these places.

Capri is reach of places to visit, rich of history and of attractions. When you arrive on the Island, you can go on Marina Grande’s beach and you can buy a ticket for a tour by sea to see Blue Grotto and Faraglioni. When you come back on the beach you could take the bus for Anacapri to visit Montesolaro by chair lift, so you can enjoy the fascinating landscape on Gulf of Naples and Salerno. If you go to Capri, you musttake a break in the famous square of the Island and then you can take a walk in Via Camerelle, the most famous street of the Island, best known for its fashion stores.

Ischia is the largest island in the Gulf of Naples and it is famous for its thermal baths and its historical places. The Island boasts four main localities i.e Forio, Casamicciola, Lacco Ameno and Sant’Angelo. When you arrive on the Island you can visit Ischia starting from Ischia Ponte, one of harbour where you can approach on, the town is rich of historical buildings such as Aragonese Castle. If you go to Ischia you must visit the wonderful thermal structures such as Giardini di Poseidon and Baia di Citara, thermal baths know all over the Europe and you can visit also the picturesque churches of Forio, such as San Gaetano and San Carlo ones. Another place to visit is Epomeus Mount, it is of volcanic origin and its name derives from Greek word Epopeus that means “looks around”, because it presents a panoramic view on the Gulf of Naples and Salerno.

Finally there is Procida, the smallest island of the bay, it was used as location to shoot films by great directors. The most important stop is San Michele Arcangelo Abbey that rises on the promontory of Terra Murata and it is a very suggestive place because it is settled overlooking the sea.
